Commuters Raise Complaints on KBS Services

Commuters who use the Kigali Bus Services-KBS as a daily means of transport have raised complaints over a new development with regard to the paper ticket worth 500 RWF. Now commuters who purchase this ticket on any particular day are able to commute using these buses using this same ticket throughout that day-meaning that the ticket is valid for use for the whole day indicated on it. Commuters woke up today to find a surprise because the paper tickets were not available.
KBS officials say they have been informing their clients about it and there are also notices of this move on the buses but some clients say they were not aware of the move. At the moment Kigali Bus Service wants to increase the price of these whole day travel tickets but they are still waiting for a response from the regulator-RURA, the paper tickets are currently out of stock but those with smart cards can still re-charge them.
