UNITY CLUB AND BRALIRWA COMMEMORATE GENOCIDE

Bralirwa has donated five million Rwandan Francs to assist the UNITY club to finalise the Construction of the Cyanika Genocide Memorial site.

The managing director of Bralirwa, Sven Piederiet said this is in line with Bralirwa’s corporate social responsibility and it only adds on the various other initiatives that the company is involved in.

On behalf of the unity Club, Senator Inyumba Aloysia expressed the club’s appreciation to Bralirwa. Unity Club is a non-profit organization that helps most vulnerable families, responds to the country’s needs and promotes Unity and Reconciliation among Rwandans.

The construction of the Cyanika genocide memorial site began 2 years ago and it was initiated by the local authorities in association with the population but due to a lack of funds, the building had been delayed.

Unity Club members visited Nyamagabe district in the Southern Province upon a request from residents of the Cyanika sector and decided to take part in this project in an effort to raise the remaining amount needed for this project that amounts to sixty million Rwandan francs.

Some of the other projects that the Unity Club has been engaged in are the Christmas campaign for children, national debates and advocacy programmes regarding unity and reconciliation and the one dollar campaign.
