The arrested journalist Ephraim Nsengumuremyi was Wednesday taken to the prosecution, to face charges on corruption and defamation, charges which he has since denied.
According to Alain Mukurarinda, the chief spokes person of the national prosecution for Rwanda, this is possible because other crimes may come up in the process of investigations.
Speaking on Nsengumuremyi’s health, Casmir Muhawenayo his lawyer said that indeed at the time of his arrest, Nsengumuremyi was suffering from severe ulcers but he has since healed as he was given medication by the police.
Muhawenayo however said that the Nsengumuremyi’s request to get a release on bail was denied by the prosecution.
