Dr. Richard Sezibera, in his new post as the EAC secretary general has a number of functions in the community. He is regarded now as the principal executive officer of the community and as such shall head the secretariat which is one of the organs of the community, he shall also be the accounting officer of the community and the secretary of the summit.
He shall also be at hand to carry out other duties that are given to him by the treaty or by the council of ministers from time to time.
Now another appointment that was made yesterday was that of the deputy secretary general for planning and infrastructure. He goes by the name of Enos Bukuku and he’s from Tanzania. He has replaced Alloys Mutabingwa from Rwanda.
