JICA Organizes Project for Science Teachers

Moving SMASSE Rwanda, a project mainly to strengthen mathematics and science in secondary education Thursday completed a seven day training for secondary school teachers on science and mathematics subjects.
Organized partly by the teachers service commission of Rwanda and Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA, the seven day training was mainly aimed at sharing experiences on teaching techniques, and assessing the understanding of the learner as the teacher taught.
The project has also been implementing an in-service teacher training for secondary school teachers of science and mathematics. Started in 2008, the project has so far trained 8,088 teachers, of this 652 of them were trained this year.
